The iconic British footwear brand, Dr. Martens, partnered with emerging filmmakers to produce Dr. Martens Presents: a Music & Film series exploring musicians living in the LA and NYC music scenes. Through a series of interviews and mini documentary films, they tell the stories of artists in these unprecedented times who are not only surviving, but thriving and innovating.

We created a dedicated landing page for each artist — a home for their mini documentary film and visual narrative. Using photography captured on location, we crafted custom collages and videos that showcased the unique style and personalities of each musician, while maintaining the authenticity of the Dr. Martens brand. The design inspiration was rooted in vintage punk rock posters and album covers, taking a hand-done, tactile approach with techniques such as photocopying, collage with cut-out text and images, and hand-drawn or stenciled elements. The designs captured the musicians' experiences as they navigated the landscape during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Black Lives Matter Movement, and their relationship with music. The result was a digital space that felt raw, human, and culturally grounded — amplifying voices while honoring the legacy of Dr. Martens.
